Sunday, November 1: Harley and Desiree arrive in NYC.
Monday, November 2: Gus returns to the office from vacation. Hunt also gives him a choice of cars and Gus chooses the Corvette with the communications/surveillance package.
Sam finds out about the robberies in Paris and calls Zander. She says that she doesnt care about his extra-agency activities so long as (A) he doesnt get caught and (B) he doesnt have a noticeable M.O. that could be traced back to him.
Sam: Knock off the redecorating.
Zander: But they have terrible taste.
Sam: Look, I already have one Martha Stewart agent. I dont need two.
Zander: Who? Moi?
Sam: Dont do French shit with me. Ive got an agent doing French shit, too. Knock it off.
Harley meets Sam at the gym to discuss agents and the new IDs shes making for him and Desiree. Sam suggests that he pick a place and buy a "vacation place" that he can visit regularly to establish an ID over time. She also tells him to keep a close eye on Betsy and transfers a copy of Etiennes preliminary psych report on her. In the course of discussing other agents, Sam mentions her recent problems with Vinnie. Harley confesses that hes probably to blame for them and explains a bit of the circumstances.
Sam: You're right. You were a prick. But that only partially excuses her. I'm tired of Vinnie acting like an airhead Barbie doll and then complaining that we don't take her seriously. I told her to persuade Zander. I didn't tell her how to do it. If the only way she can charm someone is to use sex, then she needs to learn a new bag of tricks or stopping bitching about it. Regardless, she needs to grow up.
Harley: I agree she needs to grow up. If she doesn't, I'll have a little talk with her.
Later, when Sam is talking with Hunt about agents, he mentions again that he doesnt trust Harley because he thinks Harley is putting together some sort of team. Sam explains that Hunt is misreading the situation.
Sam: Hes not recruiting Vinnie and Desiree for anything. Its a love triangle.
Hunt: Him? Them? But he doesnt have a personality!
Sam: Yeah, well, they both see something we dont.
Hunt: But what about the training?
Sam: I guess thats their version of courtship. Its weird, I admit, but considering the circumstances, I guess it works for them.
Hunt: I never would have guessed. I dont see him with Vinnie or Desiree.
Sam: I can see him with Desiree more so than Vinnie. Desiree makes sense with Roche or Nicholai, but Harley? I dont know. Whatever works.
Tuesday, November 3: Harley and Desiree go to the party at the Intrepid. At the party, Harley meets the Commandant face to face and explains that hed like to switch to the reserves so he can be there for the Corps just as the Corps was there for him. When the Commandant asks why he wont come back full time, Harley explains that it is to allow the Corps full deniability in case anything ever goes wrong on a covert ops assignment. The Commandant then offers Harley a promotion to lieutenant, which Harley turns down (making it the fourth time he has turned down a commission). The Commandant then has Harley bring Desiree over to meet him and asks her to witness to the fact that he is promoting Harley instead to Master Sergeant. When the Commandant asks Harley if there is anything else he can do for him, Harley asks a favor for someone else: To make Desiree an honorary Marine. The Commandant complies and swears in a flabbergast Desiree. Desiree also gets to dance with Robert De Niro while Harley chats with Harvey Keitel.
Harley [later]: So do you get to call him "Bobby" now?
Desiree: Actually, I was only half paying attention to what he said. All I could think about was that I'd rather be dancing with you.
Wednesday, November 4: Vinnie calls Sam and explains that she is not part of the Paris robberies. Sam says that its OK because she already talked to Zander. Zander later shows up at Vinnies apartment, asking her one last time if she wanted to join him in Germany, but the conversation didnt go well.
Zander: I thought you had gotten over that guy.
Vinnie: Thats none of your business. I can slump if I want to.
Zander: You need to lighten up.
Vinnie: Bite me, Zander.
Zander: I offered before, you said "no."
The new recruits (Michaela, Betsy and David Jefferies) are sent on an assignment under the direction of Etienne. In conjunction with the British government, they are supposed to disguise Jefferies and a British agent named Fiona so that they can impersonate Moira and John OReilly, suspected RIRA terrorists enterting the U.S.. Michaela successfully disguises them but is less successful in getting Jefferies to unclench his jaw enough to do a proper brogue. They cover for it by having Fiona do the talking except for the occasionally well-place "aye" from Jefferies.
Arrangements are made for passenger disembarkation to be delayed on the OReillys plane. Fiona, Jefferies, Betsy and Michaela enter the plane through a rear door. Fiona and Jefferies hide in the rear kitchen while Betsy and Michaela ask the OReillys to join them in back. Not suspecting anything, they are taken off the plane, and Fiona and Jefferies take their place. Meanwhile, since Etienne is busy in the surveillance van monitoring F&J, Harley and Desiree were called to provide transportation for the OReillys, Michaela and Betsy. The group heads to a nearby motel where Betsy begins breaking fingers and Michaela effortlessly bluffs the OReillys into talking while a tired Harley and Desiree watch (lets just say theyre not renting separate rooms any more). John explains that in exchange for $1.5 million the RIRA is supposed to provide Ron Ross (Joan Chens successor) with four assassins for use in the U.S. against DEA or other government agents. The information is relayed to Fiona and Jefferies so they can meet with Ross and intercept the money.
The OReillys are turned over to the British consulate for further questioning. Thanks to a report generated based upon that questioning, later in the day they find out about an RIRA safe house in Boston run by Michael Walsh. Raven, Fiona and Jefferies meet in Boston where Fiona and Jefferies are able to snatch Walsh. Raven breaks in while his wife and kids are out, searches the place but only finds a photo album that is turned over for identification.
Juan, Etienne, Raven and Kelly Duffy are put on standby as are Harley and Desiree. The latter two are also warned that this connects to the Miami mission and Joan Chens death. Hunt also finds out that Ross is trying to ally with the lesser mob families in Italy and hire shooters from there also. DAngelico is sent out to try to infiltrate the hiring process and become one of the shooters. Sam also tells George about the Ross/Chen connection and that they need an unknown to infiltrate Ross organization. George contacts Selina (Whitney) and convinces her to leave Madrid for an unknown mission in the states.
Thursday, November 5: Desiree is told to contact Don Carlos and warn him about Rons RIRA shooters. She is also able to confirm the Italian deal/shooters info. Don Carlos sets up DAngelico so that he can be hired by the side Ross is working with and sends Bruno and Guido to Desiree in NYC in case she needs "assistance." Hunt calls Nicholai and warns him about Ross activities. Selina agrees to infiltrate Ross organization. However, George wants to go slow in setting her up with Ross, which pisses off Hunt. He cuts into Sam and George's discussionbut only identifies himself as Sam's bossgets into a fight with George. After threatening to cut George off, Hunt finally gets him to agree to call Ross himself and recommend Selina. Gus arranges for Alex to be his bodyguard, since he was somewhat visible in the Miami case, which means he might be one of Ross targets. He also arranges to leave first thing in the morning for Miami to question the local police and see if there were any leaks. DAngelico is hired by Ross associates and is told that there will be five to 10 hits done competitively for $100,000 a head.
