RE: Progress of Candidate James Edwards
____________________________________________________________________________
This memo is a progress report as requested by the director.
Candidate Edwards has excelled at the Pistol and Rifle Scores. However, his attitude
indicates that he is not taking this training seriously. Some examples of his
failure to follow FBI Protocol:
1) Keeping a round chambered and the safety off while carrying his weapon
2) Making inappropriate noises when assuming the Weaver stance
3) Shooting designs onto the targets
4) Conduct bordering on sexual misconduct with the female candidates
5) Arguing with instructors
Candidate Edwards has excelled at the written exams given. However, his attitude
indicates he does not understand the proper behavior for a candidate. Some examples
of his failure to follow FBI Protocols:
1) Falling asleep (or pretending to) in class
2) Challenging the classroom instructor to reach for his weapon
3) Undermining the validity of the scenario type of exam
4) Instructing the other candidates on the way its done in the "real world"
5) Conduct bordering on sexual harassment with the female candidates
6) Arguing with instructors
Candidate Edwards has also been written up for the following infractions:
1) Speeding on Training Center Grounds
2) Wearing unauthorized apparel while on duty
It is the opinion that Candidate James Edwards could make a fine agent if he would change
his attitude. He would probably be considered the top prospect if it were not for
his attitude.
