Sam's Personality Profile and Background.
Samantha
Watson Maxwell was hired by the NSA straight out of college to work on Echelon,
the computerized system for monitoring communication technology. After a year, she was
transferred to covert ops due to her skill with computers (and because her smart
mouth but immense talent annoyed the hell out of her boss). After some non-agency dealings
with an agency assassin who was known to go after targets for personal reasons, Thomas "Max" Maxwell was
hired by a third party to be her bodyguard. Even after the danger seemingly passed, he
continued to look after her. They fell in love and married.
In time, Michael Mueller, the then head of covert ops, began to groom her for a position as operative. When the National Security Advisor selected David Hunt to replace Mueller, Hunt not only chose Sam to be his operative once he took power but brought her in on the plan to oust Mueller.
Sam takes her job very seriously and is more protective of her agents than her smart mouth indicates. Underneath the hot temper and cursing that would make a sailor blush is a sharp mind and a conscience that often has a problem with the job shes required to do for the countrys good. Her marriage to Max has taken a bit of the edge off her because (A) she can finally confide in someone and (B) she has friends for the first time since joining covert ops, even if they are Max's three ex-wives (believe it or not, all four of them get along with each other and Max, though his ex's really don't understand how she can tolerate his extreme safety precautions) and the boxers he trains. They live in an apartment above the gym Max owns with his ex-wives. If Sam leaves the building without Max, he always makes sure she is accompanied by two boxers for her own safety. Due to her temper and his overprotectiveness, few people thought the marriage would last, but it seems to work for them.
