Desiree Hunter is a mass of contradictions, perhaps best described by the Meredith Brooks' song "Bitch." Desiree is a smart woman who has made many dumb decisions; has a lot to live for but can be very self-destructive; seems like the Fierce_BW_small.jpg (8993 bytes) type who only cares about herself yet will go to great lengths to assist even teammates she doesn't like; an assassin and former stripper with a strong core of religious belief; unafraid of physical pain yet terrified of being hurt emotionally; a formerly promiscuous and sexually adventurous woman who is so desperately in love with Harley Smith that the thought of ever being with someone else is inconceivable to her; she gives Alyssa Giafortune a hard time and lectures her regularly on the business but is secretly proud and very fond of her.

Born in the U.S. and raised in Israel, Rachel Levinson served in the IDF before returning to the United States. Always a pragmatist, she turned to stripping under the name "Desiree" to finance her education and ended up recruited by the government as a deep cover agent investigating drug trafficking and organized crime through the strip clubs. She was eventually transferred to covert ops.

Desiree is liked by some teammates yet intimidates others. Unlike many of her colleagues, she does not enjoy killing. To her, it's a necessary evil. Because she has spent so much time undercover and going from one assignment to the next, making friends was never a priority for Desiree, though there were people she was somewhat friendly with. Instead, she filled her time with dancing, working out or working on cars, with much of her social interaction revolving around one-night stands. She has the bad habit in personal situations of hearing what she believes is said rather than what is really said. While on a personal level, she's happier than she's ever been, Desiree has also been torturing herself with the idea that it won't last. The question is whether she'll make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
